Get Qualified in Emergency First Aid in the workplace

This course is ideal for those that are required to hold a first aid qualification but don’t require the more comprehensive First Aid at Work qualification, and covers all the main workplace first aid emergency situations you may need to deal with.

  • Roles and responsibilities of the first aider within the workplace
  • Scene Survey
  • Unconscious casualties, including seizures
  • Adult, junior and baby CPR
  • Use of AED
  • Choking
  • Burns and scalds
  • Bleeds and shock
  • Minor wounds such as grazes, small cuts and bruises

This is a classroom-based instructor lead course. The classroom learning is facilitated by the instructor using PowerPoint presentation, scenario-based learning, open discussions and formative and summative assessment. Each learner will receive a First Aid Manual which can be used during the course and is theirs to keep post course.

Assessment – There are a series of practical assessments throughout the course as well as a multiple-choice question paper at the end of the course.

This is a 1-day course consisting of 6 hours of contact learning time and is valid for a period of 3 years, with the HSE recommending annual updates throughout the time you hold the qualification.
