Get Qualified to Level 3 Paediatric First Aid

This qualification is the minimum level of first aid qualification required to be held by at least one person on site at all times within a professional childcare establishment. It is also a requirement for all Childminders to hold this award as set out by the Department for Education

The aim of the qualification is for the learner to attain the knowledge and practical competence required to deal with a range of paediatric first aid situations.

This is a classroom-based instructor lead course. The classroom learning is facilitated by the instructor using PowerPoint presentation, open discussions and formative and summative assessment.

As well as instructor assessed practical sessions there is also a workbook to be completed during this course.

Each learner will receive a First Aid Manual which can be used during the course and is theirs to keep post course.

Minimum contact hours for this qualification are 12 hours which is run over 2-day with a certificate validity of 3 years. The HSE strongly recommends annual updates during the validity of this certificate.
